Though the scoreboard won't reflect it, this was one of the Cougars best efforts of the year against a powerful foe in the undefeated Valley Christian. In our first match with them, we lost 56-12, but this time we actually made it a game through the first half. After a nice start, the Vikings led only 22-15 at halftime and their coach was not pleased. Using an attacking style, the Cougars were able to consistently break the press and knocked down some big shots from the outside. Bharath led all scorers with 8 points and some nice defensive intensity, while Brennan chipped in 7 points and had numerous hustle plays. Each player had a big three-pointer as well.
This was a nice tough challenge which will prepare the team for the remainder of the Mission Peak Tournament games in the coming days.
